The Cape Coast Archdiocese commences the Assumption of Mary with a procession from the St. Francis De Sales Cathedral, Cape Coast to St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Amanful.
Before the procession began, the Praises and Worship team led the congregation to say a word of prayer. Later, a welcome message was delivered by Rev Fr. Acquah Gyan, the Administrator of St Francis De Sales Cathedral.
Rev Fr. Francis Nteful mounted the podium to deliver a word of exaltation to the congregants. Rev Fr. Obeng Paintsil, the Rector of the Jukwa Krobo Marian Grotto gave a brief history of the Feast of the Assumption of Mary and words of encouragement to the people gathered.
The procession then began with the chanting of Marian songs and the recitation of the Holy Rosary led by the Catechist Mr. Francis Dadzie through the principal streets of Cape Coast to the St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church premises.
The Parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church waited patiently to receive the procession as it brought the Marian Statue to the Parish. Rev. Fr. Lawrence Yeboah, the Parish Priest of St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and his congregants received them with joy and open arms and joined them in merry making. A word of exaltation and welcome was then given by Rev Fr. Lawrence Yeboah, the Parish Priest.
